Housing costs are rising faster than many families’ incomes, and we need practical solutions. I support policies that expand the supply of affordable housing, encourage workforce housing for teachers, nurses, and first responders, and remove unnecessary barriers that make building housing more expensive. We need to find a sensible solution to removing private equity from buying up our housing supply.

Here's what I would change:

Limiting bulk purchases of single-family homes by large institutional investors

Giving first-time home buyers a fair shot, like priority windows before investors can bid

Increasing transparency so communities know who actually owns the housing in their neighborhoods
