Reforming Federal Government

What happened to a government of the people, by the people, for the people? I strongly believe that fixing the following areas first will cascade down improvements on to other key issues:

Here's what I would change:
Term limits for Congress. Elected officials should not be able to hold a lifetime appointment
US House of Representatives term limits should move from 2 years to 3 years. 2 years means they are always fundraising. How can they service the people if they are in it for themvles 50% of the time
US Senators' term limits should move from 6 years to 4 years
Corporations are not people. They should not be able to inject massive amounts of money into our elections. Reverse the Citizens United decision
Members of Congress should not be able to trade stocks. I couldn't trade when I worked in financial services and the same rules should apply to the men and women who run our country
Congress should have to use the same healthcare plans that they approve for the people. If they want better healthcare, then better healthcare needs to be made available to the people they work for as well.
If the government shuts down, so should Congress members' pay
No free healthcare

Unfortunately, some of these items are myths about Congress. For example, Congress is already subject to the same insider trading rules as the general public. But, who is watching Congress? And when it comes to healthcare, Congress is required to use the District of Columbia's SHOP exchange, known as DC Health Link. It's reported that there are more than 100,000 people on the DC Health Link.

The other concerns are fair game for change.
